Waking up in the morning and feeling the heavy burden of the issue, can be tough. It is an extra thing that you have to deal with on top of everything else. It could be something which is invisible to those around you, and it might be hard for them to understand what you are going through. This can lead to feelings of loss, hopelessness, anger, shame and confusion.
Sharing and feeling heard in the right space is important. It allows the heaviness of the issue to be shifted – taken off you and put to the side (maybe onto a shelf or in a little cart) where it can be looked at from a different place. Over time, this space allows for you to start to tell your story in a way which is empowering of you.
